Skin Treatments
Laser treatments are the way to go if you want to enhance your skin by brightening or removing sun spots. We recommend vetting a dermatologist out as soon as possible to set a consultation, talk about your goals, and plan in advance. Some laser procedures need a waiting period of 1-3 months in between services. Ensure you're seeking a dermatologist as soon as possible to have the best complexion possible. We suggest seeking a dermatologist one year out.
Botox and Injectables
The same applies to the aesthetician and dermatologist. Seek out a specialist as soon as possible! If you've been meaning to try injectables and want a little extra something, it's best to vet your aesthetician as quickly as possible! Many aestheticians have different styles of injecting, so this is the time to study methods and products when it comes to getting Botox or injectables. We suggest going in no later than 8 months out. This gives you plenty of time to allow the product to settle and dissolve if necessary without causing issues when you're closer to your moment.
Skin Regimen
This is definitely the time to get your AM and PM regimen down! We all struggle with different skin types, but this is the best time to nail what works best for your skin. Consult with your dermatologist and determine what's necessary to get your skin into a good routine. Trying new products can be great if you have enough time to experiment and see your skin needs! It only takes one month to create a habit. So, if you want the best moisturized, glass skin of your life, let's get that skin routine down! We suggest focusing on a proper AM and PM skin routine 8-6 months out.
Body
Body Hair Removal
If you're looking to spoil yourself and get that stubborn hair removed for the big day and honeymoon, get started with laser treatments as soon as possible. Results show that certain body areas must be removed from three months to a year. It's a process that can save you a lifetime of shaving and set the tone for ease and comfort, knowing you feel confident in your marriage. We just want you to feel like your best self going into the best years and lifetime. We suggest beginning laser treatments one year out.
Body Sculpting
Body sculpting centers are the latest in lymphatic drainage and natural methods of sculpting that figure. Some centers include cavitations that allow fat cells to be broken down and flushed through the lymphatic system. This is the best solution if you're looking for a natural alternative to losing a couple of inches around the body! It's best to begin these treatments no later than six to eight months before your wedding!
No Sun - Try Red Light Therapy
Let's skip the tanning bed and let's go for a red light therapy bed! If you want to create fewer wrinkles and give your skin the bounce and glow you want, try a red light therapy sauna! Not only is it a great immune system boost but the effects that red light therapy has on your complexion will make the biggest difference to your photos! We recommend starting red light therapy six to eight months before the wedding!
Spray Tan
We get it. Some want a little color for our big day. No problem! Spray tans are a great natural solution to giving you that glow that'll last a lifetime in our wedding photos. When looking for a tanning salon or an individual, we want to ensure we've got our formula down. Try getting a tan three to four months before your wedding to give you enough time to have a couple of spray tans to see which color you like the best. Remember your formula, and book in advance with your spray tan specialist.
Hair
Growth
Some of us want to have longer locks before the big day. We're going to give you two options that'll suit your needs. First is growing your hair naturally. Start this process a year in advance by going to your salon specialist and getting regular trims, deep conditioning treatments, and cutting back on processed hair products. Secondly, get extensions. We recommend getting extensions about a month and a half before your wedding. This way, you can have a move-up appointment one or two weeks before the wedding, and your extensions won't be so close to the scalp. Suppose you consider getting clip-in extensions. In that case, we recommend purchasing your clip-ins two months in advance to ensure you have the correct color, and we can take them to the salon to have them adjusted and trimmed if necessary. The same applies to our ladies who love wigs!
Styling
Styling your hair is one of the tasks that you don't want to worry about on your big day. Finding a stylist is much different than finding someone who can cut or color your hair, so being specific is very important. Do your research for your hairstyle up to six months before the wedding. Once you've found your stylist and style, we recommend going in and getting a hair trial two months before the big day!
Teeth
Whitening
You need to know if this is your first time getting your teeth whitened professionally. Occasionally, whitening can bring up teeth sensitivity, which is temporary. We recommend getting your teeth whitening session one to two months in advance and maintaining its whiteness by refraining from coffee or wine. You can also get an at-home teeth whitening kit that is just as effective and that you can use on the day of the wedding!
Alignment
We all want a straighter smile, and for some of us, it can be achieved! Head to your orthodontist a year to a year and a half before your wedding. Depending on your treatment plan, this should be enough time to impact your smile. Sometimes, it may be less. Using Invisalign eight months to a year in advance can make a huge difference! Consult with your doctor and see what treatment plan is best for you!
Cleaning and Gum Health
One can tell the health of someone's smile by the pinkness of their gums. When the gum is red, it is usually inflamed with underlying causes. Getting regular teeth cleanings can help aid in the health of your smile, as well as frequent flossing. If you're looking for a fresh smile on your big day, begin visiting the dentist nine months to a year out. Teeth cleanings are usually every three months. This way, you can receive a couple cleanings before it's time to walk down the aisle.
Complexion
Hydration
The level of plumpness and elasticity has much to do with your hydration. Staying hydrated is a crucial task to maintaining a plump and vibrant complexion. Why do we bring up something like water? Many of us don't drink enough water daily to be hydrated! For women, we need 72 ounces daily. If you have trouble drinking water, getting a trendy Stanley Cup can motivate you more often to consume your H2O. If you have trouble drinking that much water, try hydration solutions that add minerals to your water. We recommend starting your water journey about eight months to a year before the big day. Warning, your love for water may last a lifetime!
Lowering Stress
Now that your wedding planning is underway, we can all relate to the stress that is induced by creating the perfect day. Proper emotional management can help you get through the stress of tedious tasks and allow yourself to have the healthiest complexion when it comes to walking down the aisle. Nothing is ever as serious as truly relishing and being present on your wedding day! Here are some suggestions.
No Multitasking - take one item at a time and complete it to make room for the other.
Enjoy a Meal - your complexion depends on your diet. Be sure to fill it with nutrition.
Meditation Session - guided instruction throughout your planning process can have a greater impact on managing stress.
Hug your Fiance - this is a great way to boost serotonin levels and can lower stress hormones like cortisol.
Deep Breathing Technique - 4-4-4-4 box breathing technique is life-changing.
We suggest practicing your stress reduction as soon as you begin planning your wedding.
Health & Exercise
Sleep
Sleep is vital, and what better way to get an excellent insight on your help than Oura Ring. It's a beautiful little practice for your wedding band. Oura Ring allows you to track your sleep, heart, activity, stress, and recovery. It calculates your efficiency score and how much rest you receive to motivate you to perform better. Lastly, with the in depth sleep score, you’ll be able to see how long you were awake, your light, deep, and REM sleep. Essential for those days when we need energy to complete our wedding tasks. When you’re well-rested, you allow your bodies to revitalize, heal, and grow! We suggest you work on your sleep patterns about one year before your wedding.
Lowering Alchohol Intake
Of course, we all want to celebrate for you on getting engaged! Celebration is warranted! But sometimes, lowering alcohol intake can even assist in helping us lose unwanted weight and stubborn fat. Check out Sober Summer for fantastic alternatives for alcohol during your time of sobriety! This is another way to bring back color and complexion to that beautiful face! We suggest cutting down on alcohol around one to six months before the big day.
Training
We all want to look our best on our big day. A workout plan is crucial for your body and mental health. Planning your workout is a great way to achieve your dream body. If you're looking for an app that a personal trainer, (insert) has excellent reviews! Getting a personal trainer is another significant step in the right direction. Although it takes a little time to find the right trainer, the vetting process can take about a month. Getting your fitness routine in check should begin one year after your wedding.
Diet
For all of us, health truly starts in the kitchen. Whether we've been primarily eating healthy already or genuinely want to create a change, there is always something for us to learn. Pairing your diet with your training can significantly affect your physique and complexion for your wedding. Depending on your dietary restrictions, sticking to wholesome and natural foods is a great way to start the journey toward your goals. Cutting out processed foods, refined sugars, and complex carbohydrates can make the most significant difference. Seeking a dietician can be beneficial for testing food allergies that may hinder your diet and weight goals. We recommend seeking diet changes one year out from your wedding.
